Food Rescue Program
The Problem in Michigan
Roughly 1 in 7 Michiganders struggle to afford enough food. Families in our own Wayne County communities don't always know where their next meal will come from.
Despite the need, more than 30% of food produced in Michigan is thrown away each year, much of it perfectly edible surplus from farms, grocers, and distributors.
How We Do It
We partner with local farms, grocery stores, and food businesses to collect surplus food before it goes to waste. Every box, every bag, every item counts.
Our volunteers sort, pack, and prepare food with care and dignity. Because this isn't just about food. It's about connection and making sure no one feels forgotten.
Food is delivered directly to individuals and families in need, or stocked in our community pantry so people can access it on their own schedule.
